Hello. I used to do publicity here. But I know my old colleagues would love to hear from you, just email the general e-mail address, which is my address but with publicity instead of kristin.

I grew up in the green pastures of Ohio; here in Brooklyn, I still spend most of my time reading. I studied fiction in school, but I'm enthusiastic about a lot of different writing. I'm freelancing now, but still have my softskull email account.

Do you read Chicago for fun, and it hard to tear yourself away from it? Have you gotten in fistfights over the serial comma? Do you have dictionary.com bookmarked? Do you get so lost in Roget's that you forget why you picked it up in the first place? Do you like copyediting and proofreading manuscripts, especially of cool new literary fiction and sexy new left-leaning political titles? Do you like the idea of doing that for free? Hi y'all. I'm an editor at large for Soft Skull and previously served as both Publicity Director & Associate Publisher. I cofounded the Frequency Series and also hosted the Soft Skull Sneak Peek Series at the Bowery Poetry Club. (Sorry, I have closed my SSP email account, & am no longer considering submissions. After my current books are completed I will be moving on to other projects.)

I have been with Soft Skull since 1996. I am ALWAYS on the lookout for books that will challenge the ideals of the compact majority and help people to think outside the proverbial mind-box.
