About the book:
Following his rollicking, well received trilogy Irish Wine, Dick Wimmer continues with five new exuberant tales about Seamus Boyne, the greatest painter in the world, Gene Hagar, a writer and Boyne’s best friend, and Tory, Boyne’s daughter who will marry Hagar—the complications are hilarious and endless. Irish Wine was named a Barnes & Noble Reader’s Catalogue selection as one of the best books of 2002.

Widely and wildly praised, Wimmer’s stories remind some critics and readers of Ginger Man and At-Swim-Two-Birds. The poet Eamon Grennan said, “Like Flann O’Brien on speed, Dick Wimmer dazzles with a collection of mainly Irish crazies who tumble through their wildly disheveled lives . . .Think Dylan Thomas revving a Harley Davidson through heavy traffic.”

About the author:
Dick Wimmer is a professor of English at Pepperdine University and the author of numerous works of fiction, as well as screenplays for television and film. Some of his books include Baseball Fathers, Baseball Sons (1988), Irish Wine (1989), and Boyne's Lassie (1998). In addition, he has published short stories in many literary magazines and written The Million Dollar Infield, a CBS Movie of the Week, starring Rob Reiner.
