So, I’m just going to focus on your mention of Frightened Rabbit (sigh), and recommend Sam Pink’s strange weirdo double novel The Garbage Times/White Ibis, which is big-hearted and sweaty and grimy and sad and tender and not altogether hopeful, really. Man, I just can’t help but root for the guy. (For Sam? For the main characters in Sam’s books? Why not both.) I also think The Garbage Times would’ve made for a good Frightened Rabbit album title.
